Moving on to the painting part of this project. (For the record, we've reached the point that we are now saying if we ever get the wild hair to tackle a project this big again, we'll just move. Now, we all know that isn't true, but for the moment, it kinda is!)
So paint. I paid a visit to the local paint store and walked out with 7 gallons of paint. That's a lot of paint, folks. I'm going to pretend that painting is exercise though and get all my workouts for the year taken care of this week. Heh. I am only sort of kidding about that.

And since it was Super Bowl Sunday (defense wins championships, as they say!), the toilet [get it?] got replaced in the hall bathroom (with a little help from a friend - again!).
The Dooze provided good supervision on this effort. She is very helpful you know. Also while said friend was here, he helped move the china cabinet and piano back in from the garage (thank the good Lord, cause I don't think I coulda done it. Getting it out of the house just about killed me, wimp that I am!).
So, definite good progress. I am off on Monday and am hoping to get the painting done but I've got a lot of full paint cans sitting waiting on me, so maybe not. It is all good, though, and it is going to be amazing when it is done!!!
