Electrical Work - December 31

220, 221...whatever it takes.  (Mr. Mom reference for those of you old enough to remember the movie).

The day started bright and early, well at least early, with the Bagster people showing up at around 7 to get our bagster-o-kitchen-wall debris.  Exciting stuff!  Of course I took pictures 'cause it is machinery and 'cause it's cool.

Just that simple!

The electrical rerouting work went great as did running a new line for the pendant lights over the peninsula.  We've got one tricky dimmer switch for said pendants that is giving us a challenge but I am confident that we'll get it (and by we I mean my Dad).
Where the beautiful pendants will go

New junction boxes and a new outlet and the spot for the dimmer switch.

Doesn't look like much but we actually made more good progress today! One is wise to go very slowly and cautiously when one is dealing with electrical stuff.  Oh, and make sure the power is off.  :-)

Chris also dug up about 4 million ferns so the Gas Dudes will have an easier time of it on Thursday.  My Mom finished planning the configuration of the wall oven /microwave cabinet - that is the next project after the Holiday tomorrow, and then Gas Dudes the next day!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

    1. And I'm confused. I see three twist-lock electrical caps in the left pendent box, two in the center and one in the right. Three? One? I would have expected two in each (unless the dimmer has a remote piece, then maybe three in the first and two in each of the others). Good luck Mr. Gordon!

  2. Mark, there are wires run into the mounts for the pendants but they are not connected to each other yet. We ran the wire between the mounts before we put them in so that it will be easier when it is time to actually connect them. Ultimately each of the pendant boxes will have two connections/wire nuts, but for now, there are unconnected wires with wire nuts pending the drywall getting done. Chris and I just capped off every open wire to be sure that the sharp edges don't catch anyone working up in the ceiling.
